An exercise in patience…

So usually I want to rush through a picture when it comes to the inking phase of a drawing, and I usually sacrifice detail for the satisfaction of a finished project.  So I decided to force myself to do the opposite.  Usually I’ll finish inking within two hours.  This one took me about four days, off and on.  I’d say a total of 8 hours of work here.  Granted, some of it was spent fleshing out the sketch before inking, so it wasn’t literally pen to paper the entire time, but overall I think this was a successful challenge.

I’ll be attempting to force the same slow, steady pace during the coloring phase of this picture.

Wow, this is great. You should bribe one of the writers around here to write you an epic fantasy to illustrate.

The scary thought is, Charlie probably has lots of material to blackmail with. Ha!

Seriously, I love this. Can’t wait to see it colored!
